The Sphere Section 400 Seating Chart

The Sphere Section 400 Seating

A visit to our best seats for The Sphere post and you'll see that pretty much any seat at Sphere offers amazing views, and that view holds for most 400 level seating too. We're not saying that there aren't some drawbacks, there definitely are, in fact there are pros and cons, but we think there are more pros sitting in 400 level seats and not just because of cost.

What to expect when sitting in The Sphere upper level 400 section?

Whether you're seeing Wizard of Oz or a concert, upper level 400 seats are actually a really good way to see any Sphere show. First, you'll get the very best full view of the venue because there's literally nothing behind you to see. It stands to reason that 400 level, especially upper 400 level seats wouldn't be great for a concert because the stage would be as far away as can be, but believe it or not, the venue actually has good views from all sections for concerts too.

The view from lower 400 section seats

You'll hear a lot of people say the same thing about the 400 level seats at the Sphere: "Wow, it's steep up here!" And yeah, they're not wrong. If just *thinking* about heights makes you queasy, then maybe skip these. But if you're cool with it and you want a truly killer, no-compromise view for any show, then the 400 sections—and especially the lower rows like in Section 403—are absolutely awesome.

Here's the thing: that elevation is your secret weapon. It gives you a completely unimpeded, head-on view of the entire screen and stage. You just look forward and take it all in.

Compare that to sitting down in the 200 or 300 sections for a visual show like Wizard of Oz. From down there, the action is all above you on that massive dome. You'll spend the whole show with your head tilted back, craning your neck to see what's happening—it's a workout you didn't sign up for.

Section 400 seats are too steep!

A viral Tiktok complains about having had a panic attack at Section 406, seat 27-28, because the stairs to get to her seat were way too steep. Yup, they are steep and it's something to consider. Section 400 isn't for everyong, and if you're afraid of heights don't sit there, but if you don't mind--and I've seen 80 year olds sitting in that section so it's not all that bad--you'll have a great experience and save money on Sphere tickets.

I snuck into Section 405 and don't regret it at all!

Recently, a Sphere-goer who had purchased Section 100 seats, snuck into section 405 and says she doesn't regret it at all. Seems strange that she would love those cheaper section 400 seats that section 100 seats, or maybe not, because the view from up top of the Sphere venue is all encompasing and awesome!

Don't sit in section 100

If what you want is to see that huge rectangular screen and miss 95% of the show visuals, sit in section 100 (and pay more for those seats) or, if you want the full, 100% view of the show, sit up as high as you can and see EVERYTHING!

Section 400 seats ain't the best for concerts

So far we've gone on and on, nauseatingly so about the benefits of 400 level seats for Wizard of Oz, if we haven't convinced you by now to save some cash we never will. But lots of people claim that section 400 seats aren't that great for concerts because you're too far removed from stage to experience the show. True. But, in our opinion, they're still not all that bad either especially when considering all the visuals that accompany the concert which can best be viewed from furthest away from the concert stage. Oh, and have we mentioned the cost savings on tickets? Have more questions? Check out the Sphere seating chart.
