High Roller Las Vegas

High Roller Las Vegas

Get your ticket to ride the High Roller, the world’s largest observation wheel, in Sin City. At 550 feet tall (168m), Las Vegas' newest attraction lives up to its name, offering unparalleled views of the downtown area, day and night. Ensconce yourself in one of the 28 air-conditioned pods for a half hour you won’t soon forget. Afterwards, check out the city’s newest entertainment quarter, The LINQ, where a dynamic array of shops, restaurants, and bars await.

It looks like a Ferris wheel. It spins like a Ferris wheel. But this is Las Vegas where nothing is as it seems. The High Roller — it’s billed as an ‘observation wheel’ — is so much more than anything a carnival could produce. In addition to being the world’s tallest of its kind (sorry, London Eye) at 550 feet tall and 520 feet in diameter, the High Roller has quickly become a must for any visitor to Vegas.

High Roller Las Vegas was voted among the top 5 things to do in Las Vegas with kids and has become a Las Vegas attractions favorite. This 550-foot tall observation wheel has a 360 degree view of the Las Vegas Strip. You'll love seeing all the Vegas sights from far atop this gigantic ferris wheel which is taller than the famous London Eye! Within close proximity you'll see the Fountains of Bellagio, Eiffel Tower at Paris and more.

It was one of the few things I could find that my kids would like it, and they did. However, the only part ai didn’t like was that they don’t let people ride alone, so they forced us to ride with another man who was waiting at the gate. We ride on this kind of thing only one in your life time, and we wish that they respect our comfort before their regulations. I am sure that this gentle man wanted to go alone, too. It made a bit of awkward atmosphere and not 100% enjoyable experience.

Our second time on the high roller, this time during the day. Daytime is fantastic as you can see the mountains, night time was excellent for the lights. Happy half-hour is fantastic, the waitress works non-stop. After the frenzy at the start there's no problems getting drinks and you'll leave pleased and maybe buzzed. Make sure to get there a bit early, you need to line-up to pickup your tickets, even with the voucher in hand! Note you need to load/offload while it is moving so this may not be ideal for some.

The high roller is a great Vegas attraction especially for kids and well worth the cost. There is an option to buy the all inclusive bar plan but unless you intend to pound drinks it’s probably not worth the price. You can buy drinks before you board the pod. We bought the drink package but did not know that kids under 21 were not allowed on the same pod as us so the kids had to take another one. Other than that, this is a fun attraction and a must see in Vegas. For those of you who are scared of heights the ride rotated so slowly that you really don’t feel it and the pod is fully enclosed and holds 20 people comfortably so it wasn’t much of a problem. My 10 year old daughter hates heights and rode it without any problem.
