By far, the most anticipated November event in Vegas this year is the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix taking place November 16, 17, 18 and amazingly, the race will take place on the Strip, which is unpreceidented and normally reserved only for New Years Eve celebrations. The 3.8-mile track will weave through the most iconic Sin City landmarks and through most of the larger Strip hotels. It's a first of it's kind for Vegas.
Park MGM is actually pretty centrally located to the most active four corners in Las Vegas, which is Tropicana and Las Vegas Boulevard, and where MGM Grand, Luxor, New York-New York, and Tropicana are located--not to mention a load of other great hotels such as Mandalay Bay, etc. Basically, there's a ton of entertainment near you like most of the best Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas. But Cirque shows aren't cheap so lets focus on good Vegas entertainment at a low cost near Park MGM.
First off, Terry Fator at New York - New York, which is the next hotel down from Park MGM. It's a great oldie but goodie Vegas show and in November tickets start at around $50, pretty cheap. Another good entertainment option for November are all the shows at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. There are a bunch of them, they're all really entertaining, show in small venues, and they're all really inexpensive with tickets starting at around $20. While I'm not a fan of shopping malls -- Miracle Mile Shops is a mall, fyi -- I love these shows because they're honest, lively and incredibly entertaining for the ticket price.
Vegas has never been more family-friendly than it is now, so this is question is a breeze to answer! You've got plenty of options and I'll mostly point you resources that'll help highlight all those options. First step is to check out our page Las Vegas Shows for Kids which is essentially the most comprehensive listing of family-friendly shows in Las Vegas.
My personal Vegas kid show favorites are Mystere, Blue Man Group, Adam London Laughternoon, and Popovich Comedy Pet Theater (which I've seen with my kids three times!) There are others of course, but they'd mostly be appropriate for your 9 year old.
The shows I've written about so far are paid shows, but there are a few free shows your kids will love. Circus-Circus has a free circus acts every day of the week starting at 11:30am on weekends and 1:30pm weekdays. It worth watching. If you don't mind a cab or bus right to downtown Las Vegas you can catch free lights shows on the world's largest LED screen! It's free and worth seeing, but this shows only a night. Fall of Atlantis show is an automated special effects show that runs each hour on the hour everyday except for Tuesday and Wednesday at Caesars Forum Shops.
You're staying in a busy part of the Las Vegas Strip so you won't have any problems finding good shows at a good price. I personally feel that some of the Cirque du Soleil shows are very reasonably priced when you consider the quality of entertainment you get for your money. A well priced Cirque show is Mystere. At the moment you can get these tickets for $72, not bad at all. Also near by MGM Grand are all the shows at the shows at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. Shows here start at around $20, give or take a few bucks depending on time of the year, and they're all great shows held in intimate theaters, quite a departure from the massive scale shows like Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group and others. I love the mega shows too, but sometimes a small venue hits the spot.
It's an awesome venue. I've seen a few shows there and there isn't a bad seat in the theater. I know this is an over used claim in Vegas, but HOB really is a fantastic venue. November shows are as follows:
Comedy is serious business in Vegas....haha, I just had to throw that in. Ok, comedy -- and seriously -- I'll admit, it's a hard choice because comedians rotate between all the clubs and they're the act, they're the ones who make us laugh, or not--and if you want to laugh it's best to find the best comedians rather than comedy club. So what comedians are performing in November on the Strip? Here you go:
Blue Man Group is a great, classic Las Vegas show and yeah, there's a ticket discount for it at Vegas.com. Here are details for that deal: select and book a performance for Blue Man Group between now and Mar. 23, 2024 for performance dates between Sep. 26, 2023 and Mar. 23, 2024. Make sure you book the "Insider Pricing" ticket type and get a discounted price when you book select Blue Man Group tickets.
Adele performs at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on November 3 and 4, 2023. Check out our cheap Adele tickets page for the latest deals on this show.
There are a boat load of shows to see. We'd suggest you check out our December Las Vegas shows page for a list of all events, shows, concerts and things do to.
