The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay hotel may just be the best family attraction on the south side of the Las Vegas Strip. The Shark Reef complex features fourteen exhibits devoted to dangerous aquatic predators, from over 100 sharks and crocodiles to komodo dragons and piranha, Shark Reef is home to more than 2,000 animals. The largest exhibit is the 1.3 million gallon shipwreck where visitors experience an almost 360-degree view, teeming with sharks and fish, through an acrylic tunnel.

The Aquarium is comprised of nearly 1.6 million gallons of water in 14 exhibits. Best of all is a Touch Pool where guests can touch an ever-changing collection of animals including sharks, rays or horseshoe crabs.


Dive with Sharks

For those who're aged 18 or over and certified divers with nerves of steel the Shark Reef's 'Dive with Sharks' program is a must. It's a unique chance to dive with a higher concentration of exotic sharks than you'd ever find in the wild. There are over 30 sharks; including Sandtiger, Sandbar and White Tip Reef Sharks. The cost is steep, $650 per diver ($1,000 for two divers) but it's an experience you'll never forget.

Shark Feed

Have you ever wondered how sharks eat? Are they ferocious eaters? Watch and decide for yourself during this interactive shark feed. Stand alongside Aquarists as they teach you about how shark food is prepared, what kinds of foods are used, and other myths and truths about shark behavior. Then grab a feeding tong and try your hand at serving lunch to our resident zebra sharks. Price is $80 per person.

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is not your typical aquarium. It's a total sensory experience designed to transport visitors to an undersea ocean of fantastic sights, sounds and encounters. Featuring dangerous and unusual aquatic animals from the world's tropical waters, Shark Reef Aquarium takes visitors on a journey through an ancient temple slowly being claimed by the sea.

Instant Shark Party: Plenty of Water, Just Add Kids

As you can imagine, this incredible aquarium is a unique place for parties. Parties are 2.5 hours long and consist of 1 hour in the aquarium and 1.5 hours in a party room. Aquarium themed plates, cups, napkins, flatware, decorations, and invitations are all included. But wait, the best part is...Shark Reef staff does all of the set-up and clean up for you! There are two party start times - 10:00 am for early risers or 2:30 pm for those who have trouble getting out of bed.

If you're love of sharks and salt water is really deep why not propose marriage in it? You'll get a private tour of Shark Reef, a resident diver will help you propose to your significant other while a photographer captures the moment!

Shark Reef Discounts

Adult ticket prices are $18 and children ages 5 - 12 are $12. Children 4 and under are admitted free of charge to Shark Reef.

What to do Afterwards

Watching those sharks feast on chum is sure to work up an appetite! The Mandalay Bay Food Court is located just outside the Shark Reef complex and it offers tempting quick bites in an appealing setting complete with sofas for lounging around. You'll enjoy a selection of fare from Pan Asian Express, Subway, Bonanno's Pizza, and Nathan's Famous, and Johnny Rockets.
