Yoga Teacher Training in New York City is among the top options in the world. The rich diversity of people, cultures and yoga teacher training courses in NYC will make any student's experience increadible, not to mention offer them a network and post-course support system.
If you're a New Yorker or are thinking to travel to New York City for a course, you'll be pleased to know there are plenty of great options below.
Three Sisters Yoga
Three Sisters Yoga in New York City is a Yoga Alliance Registered school based in NYC and offers 200 hour and 300 hour yoga teacher training courses plus a selection of continuing education workshops and classes. Unlike many other programs in New York, Three Sisters Yoga is a yoga teacher training school exclusively, they don't offer public yoga classes, meaning this is a highly specialized bunch of folks who have their minds set on training teachers.
The 200-hour program immerses you in the practice of yoga: asanas, history, philosophy, postures, anatomy as it relates to yoga, and physiology from a yogic perspective. You will learn how to find your authentic voice, develop vibrant and creative classes, teach private clients and build your yoga business.
Most schools require some degree of yoga background to join their 200-hour and Three Sisters Yoga is no exception requiring some experience but not a ton. "Experience" isn't about how well you perform asana rather it's more to do with your overall knowledge of the basic fundimenetals of yoga as a whole: asana, pranayama, history and philosophy.
Trainings are intimate (16 people per training maximum) so the level of personalization is higher than other schools yet these courses aren't small enough to truly be intimate in our opinion.
Three Sisters Yoga is registered with the Yoga Alliance and located between 36th and 37th and 8th avenue in Manhattan.
