Having grown up with parents who worked in the hotel industry, I love a good luxury hotel so reviewing Westin Anaheim Resort has been interesting and entertaining.
This is a 4-star hotel near Disneyland that features a beautiful building facade as well as quality touches throughout the property. Outside of its quality, the benefit of staying at Westin Anaheim Resort is its proximity to the Disneyland park, it is literally across the street from the park making it a wonderful hotel walking distance to Disneyland.
Accommodations are modern, comfortable and well done. For those who have an overactive olfactory system--like me--you'll be pleased to know that the rooms we reviewed had a neutral smell which helps create the expected experience. Beds are very comfortable and in fact if you read up on reviews on any hotel website, you're likely to find that most of the recent ones agree. When arriving at your room you may notice that the walls can at times seem a bit bare.
Artless, minimal walls seem to be a growing trend in the hotel industry, some hotels manage to find a good balance, others like for example the W Hotel Camelback Scottsdale -- where I stayed in a room with completely bare walls -- take it to an extreme. The rooms we reviewed at Westin Anaheim Resort each had a single framed painting posted hung on each, it looked a bit bare but to be honest it didn't distract me much so placement must have been well thought through.
We didn't find any major faults with the hotel, and we looked hard for at least one! In fact, we searched through recent TripAdvisor and Booking.com reviews of the hotel and found that most negative reviews were individual service follies that seemed to have happened to the wrong guest at the wrong time, but we couldn't find sweeping and repetitive negative reviews.
Of note for those who can be sensitive to noises from neighboring rooms or other external factors such as nightclubs, street noise, and the like, we ran into a small sample of complaints about loud music/entertainment. While the source wasn't specifically mentioned, we gather the disturbance came from the Westin's rooftop bar called Rise which offers a live DJ (also happens to be a great spot for the nightly Disneyland fireworks display) so if you happen to be staying at an upper-level room you might have a hard time with the music at Rise.
Despite some minor issues, no hotel is immune to these, we loved the Westin Anaheim as a great option for a luxury hotel near Disneyland. Another luxury option in the Disney area is JW Marriott Anaheim Resort, a AAA Four Diamond property.
For all of you who love a good hotel lobby (count me in), Westin Anaheim will impress. The lobby is luxurious and tempting with ornamental ceiling fixtures, comfortable seating options, and outstanding lighting that adapts to day or nighttime. A couple of drink and food options are available lobby level: Bar 1030 and Tangerine Room which offers modern California cuisine.
You'll find four main room types at the Westin Anaheim:
Accessibility rooms come in the Queen room version.
Deluxe Guest Room features 1 King or 2 Queens with 390 square feet. The room offers a pool view and all amenities you'd expect at a hotel of this quality such as air conditioning, outstanding bathroom, and flat-screen TV.

Park View: can come in Queen or King varieties, offer 390 square feet, and most importantly a balcony with a view of the Disneyland park as well as the nightly fireworks.
