Summerlin
Summerlin is a 22,500-acre
master-planned community developed along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley
in the shadow of the Spring Mountain Range and Red Rock Canyon National
Conservation Area. Summerlin is well known for being a family friendly spot with
an abundance of parks, trails, activities, exceptional schools, houses of
worship, cultural facilities, shopping centers, medical facilities and more.
Not just a popular self-contained community, Summerlin is known for the beauty
of its streets, parks and neighborhoods.
Recreation
When you move to Summerlin, your biggest challenge will lay in deciding what to
do first. An expansive trail system extends over 100 miles, More than 30 percent
of Summerlin has been designated as community space including parks, trails,
recreational facilities, golf courses, the Summerlin Trail System, landscaped
areas and natural preserved areas.
Almost 20 percent of Summerlin’s community space is designated as irrigated open
space which includes parks, trails and golf courses, and approximately 15
percent of the community is dedicated to the preservation of natural areas such
as washes, arroyos and desert canyons.
Education
Summering boasts eight private and nine public schools ranging from
preschool/kindergarden through high school.
Cultural
Summerlin is the home of cultural activity in Las Vegas. A Library and
Performing Arts Center, the Donald W. Reynolds cultural Center, the Nevada
Ballet Theatre all serve as the cultural cornerstone of the Summerlin community.
