Many moms-to-be and dads-to-be have legitimate concerns about taking a vacation to Las Vegas while Mom is pregnant. If your doctor has given you the okay to travel, then taking a vacation in fabulous Las Vegas will make for fun memories. The first step is the traveling, whether it be by plane or car. Pregnant Moms need to move around as much as possible on the plane, at least changing the position of their legs every hour or so. Those traveling by car should make frequent stops, exercising their legs for a few moments.

Las Vegas offers many hotel and casino properties that are completely smoke free. The Signature Hotel at the MGM, the Mandarin Oriental and the Vdara are just a few locations that will provide the expecting family with an entirely smoke-free environment. However, almost every hotel and casino in Las Vegas offers designated areas that are smoke-free and you can be directed to these areas by asking any hotel employee.

Nothing is more pampering and relaxing than a massage. Many hotel spas offer special maternity or prenatal massage for Mommy at reasonable rates. The Vdara, the MGM Grand, and the Venetian have received top ratings for offering these special services. You can also choose to relax around the pool scouring the latest Baby Name book choosing "just the perfect name".

An easy activity available in abundance on the Las Vegas Strip is the many, many shows to take in. There are comedy, musicals and shows that include dinner to enjoy.

What better place to vacation and shop, shop, shop than Las Vegas! Nothing makes an expecting Mom feel better than wearing a new maternity outfit that shows off her baby bump. Within just a few miles of the Las Vegas Strip there are two large outlet malls: The Premium Outlet Mall located at 7400 Las Vegas Blvd South and is home of the Motherhood Maternity Outlet. The other is the Las Vegas Premium Outlet located at 875 South Grand Central Parkway where the Maternity Works store is found. And, without saying, what trip to Vegas while pregnant would be complete without picking up "just a few things" for baby? The Premium Outlet Mall has the Disney Outlet and OshKosh B'gosh. The Las Vegas Premium Outlet has Carters and Little Me. Inside almost any hotel gift shop, souvenir infant shirts with all kinds of cute Las Vegas quips can be purchased. The Fashion Show Mall located across from The Wynn has the Forever 21 shop where maternity clothes can be found.

Las Vegas may be in the desert but bottled water can be found everywhere on the Strip, from street vendors, inside gift shops and the small convenience stores located along the avenue. It is so important to stay hydrated while in Las Vegas and especially so for pregnant ladies. Although you will be restraining from alcohol consumption, the bars and restaurants inside the hotels are famous for their beautiful and exotic non-alcoholic drinks so feel free to enjoy these smooth, refreshing libations.

Expecting Moms can tire easily and there is a lot of walking to do in Las Vegas. However, the 4 miles stretch of the Strip gives you many opportunities to stop and rest while taking in the sights. You can take a break in the evening watching the Mirage Volcano erupt. The Fountains at Bellagio offers a relaxing moment to recover or you can choose to go inside the Bellagio and rest among their beautiful botanical gardens. Whatever you decide to do while visiting Las Vegas, nothing is more important than wearing comfortable shoes.

Now on to the best activity for pregnant Moms visiting Las Vegas - eating! Buffets and extravagant cuisines are everywhere. You can chose to eat healthy with the wide variety of foods available including salads, fruits and lean meats at any of the hotel's buffets. You can also indulge in the occasional treat at the dessert section. Another option is appetizer hopping, try different appetizers at all kinds of different places. What a delicious way to spend your vacation, eating in Las Vegas....you are eating for two, aren't you?

There are two pharmacies located right on the Las Vegas Strip where you will be able to find anything that you need in the way of first aid supplies, sundries and also fill prescriptions. These two Walgreens are open 24 hours, seven days a week. One is located near the Venetian at the north end of the Strip at 3339 Las Vegas Blvd South (702-369-8166) and the other is located across from the City Center Complex at 3765 Las Vegas Blvd South (702-508-0630). Should an emergency arise needing the care of a doctor, the Harmon Medical Center is just one block east of the Strip at 150 E. Harmon Ave (Harmon Ave is near Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino). The medical center's local phone number is 702-796-1116 and they are open Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with no appointment necessary.

Last and possibly most important is that there are hundreds of restrooms on the Las Vegas Strip. You will not have to suffer for long with every hotel equipped with several restrooms on every floor and inside any restaurant you visit.

Congratulations to all new parents and may you have a healthy and happy baby!
