The exhibit provides a fun way for children and families to learn about trees and their connection to our environment. Kids can jump into a giant bird's nest, soar over treetops, climb inside a larger-than-life tree and even dress up as their favorite woodland character. The exhibit is open daily 10 am to 6 pm. DIVE IN MOVIE NIGHT The Pavilion Center Pool at 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive, Las Vegas, NV presents "Dive in Movie Night" on July 8 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Admission is $3 per person. Take a dip in the pool, lounge in a deck chair or float around the pool while watching a movie on a really big screen. Tables and umbrellas will be provided along with a concession area. DA PLANE! DA PLANE! For a free and interesting time for the entire family, you really can't beat the runway viewing area at McCarran International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the Nation. Open 24 hours and parking is free. Pack a picnic dinner, wait till the sun goes down, bring some lawn chairs or sit in your car while watching various airplanes take off and land. Tune your FM radio to 101.1 and you can listen to the conversations between the pilots and the air traffic control tower. The area is located on Sunset Road, about 1/5 mile West of Eastern Avenue.
The North Las Vegas Airport has an open-air deck where small planes, helicopters and blimps take off and land. You can listen to the tower communicate with the pilots as they take off and land through the speaker outside. All is totally free, including parking. Walk around the lobby of the airport where pictures tell the history of this airport since it was built in 1941. There is also a landscaped picnic area to enjoy the view outside. The airport is located at 2730 Airport Drive, North Las Vegas, NV off Rancho Drive, 1 mile north of the Fiesta Casino.
SKATE! SKATE! SKATE! Stay cool and have fun at either one of the two indoor Crystal Palace Skating Rinks located at 4680 Boulder Highway or 3901 N. Rancho, Las Vegas, NV. They are offering a Summer Skating Pass for $15 for six skating sessions through August 31. Skating times are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11 am to 6 pm, and Sunday hours are 2 pm to 5 pm. The entire family will have a blast while getting fun exercise.
