Cowboy Trail Rides has been in operation for 13 years and is located in the Red Rock National Conservation Area under an agreement with the Bureau of Land Management. Voted "Best in Las Vegas" for 3 years in a row, Cowboy Trail Rides provides families the Old West experience, right down to real cowboys. Parents and kids have their choice of horseback rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, lessons for young riders, and in-camp pony rides. Cowboy Trail Rides is located 8 miles west of the Red Rock Casino and Hotel, one mile past the Visitors Center of the Red Rock National Conservation Area. Complimentary pick up is available from your hotel entrance.
Several trail rides are available to choose from to fit your family's time frame such as:
Canyon Rim Ride - a two hour morning ride along the Fossil Ridge Canyon at a fee of $129 per person. Sunset Trail Ride with Western Bar-B-Q - departing 2 hours before sunset, you will enjoy a breathtaking ride ending with a Western dinner under the stars at a fee of $169 per person. Red Rock Canyon Overlook Ride - will take you on the Canyon Rim Ride continuing on until to reach the head of the canyon. Stopping to enjoy a lunch and return to camp. This 3.5 hour ride is a fee of $250 per person. WOW Ride - 5 hours of riding in a little more challenging terrain providing a view of the Las Vegas valley, Lake Mead and on a clear day you will be able to see the East Rim of the Grand Canyon. The fee for this ride is $329 per person. Red Springs Ride - 1.5 hour ride swings around behind the mountain. This ride has 2 ride times available daily at 8a.m. and 12p.m. at a fee of $99 per person. Coyote Canyon Ride - a 1 hour ride down the wash, turning into the desert. This ride is a good introduction to back country horseback riding. This ride is offered several times daily at a fee of $69.
For those family members who do not wish to ride, they can enjoy a delicious western dinner available nightly for a fee of $59. Cowboy Trail Rides also offers two different scenic bus tours of the canyon that include dinner for $89.00.
Children six and above are welcomed on the trail rides. Children 6 to 13 years are required to wear riding helmets, which are provided. Cowboy Trail Rides recommend that all riders wear long pants, loose fitting clothes and closed toe shoes. Sunscreen in a must. Do not forget to bring your camera as your family will be taking in some of the most breathtaking sights ever experienced. Besides the amazing vegetation, sights of wild burros watching from the canyon rim, quail, and soaring hawks, parents and children will hear a performance of singing coyotes at dusk.
Cowboy Trails provides horses that are well cared for and great trail horses. The wranglers are helpful and full of educational information. Family memories will be made sitting under the stars of a beautiful desert sky while real cowboys tell their tales of the old west.
