Camp Invention – what a fun way for your child to explore
history, math, science and the arts. This program, offered to
children in the first through sixth grades, teaches kids to work
together, use their imaginations and be creative in solving
problems.

|
Local educators teach these hands-on
classes. Each camp is one week in length, with children
completing five different areas of learning.
In addition, there are two
different themes to Camp Invention, Create and Encounter.
Children participating in the Create camps
let their imaginations run wild as they transform into car
engineers, roller coaster designers and space explorers.
On Planet Zak, children are asked to solve
problems relating to science fiction stories they are told.
|
Here, they learn six steps to solving
problems and how to incorporate this into everyday life. During
spills and chills each child is transformed into an engineer and
challenged to use their imaginations while designing safety features
for products like skateboards, crash cars and more!
Then it’s on to the classroom theme park
where children uncover the physics of roller coasters and design
their own scream machine. Other activities include creating your own
game and taking apart household items, only to learn how to improve
upon them.
During the Encounter Program, kids take
off deep into the ocean and explore the underwater world and the
depth of the earth. Here kids create boats, help an underwater team
collect samples and more. This module is all about using your brain
power to solve problems and uncover treasures. Children are also
challenged to develop new carnival games using math and probability.
If your child is interested in math, science and problem solving,
Camp Invention is the perfect outlet for them to challenge and be
challenged.
