Caesars Palace Lights up Las Vegas Strip

Mutts ‘n Masters 5K/1-Mile Fun Walk
Saturday, November 15, 7:30 a.m.
Fee: $20 5K Run; $15 one-mile fun run; no charge for mutts

This event is for all ages and dog types. There will be two categories to chose from: 5K competitive run or the one-mile fun run/walk with or without your favorite four-legged friend. Both categories will be timed events. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a ribbon; first through third place winners will receive medals and dogs will receive a bandana.

Red Rock Canyon:  Turtlehead Peak (Adults)

Hike Sandstone Quarry, the trail heads north over a narrow rise, in and out of a wash, then continues for a short distance along the northwest side of Turtlehead Peak. Scramble up a ravine to the saddle and follow the steep ridge to the top. The trail is intermittent and composed of loose rock (5 mile round trip, very strenuous). You will need to bring lots of water, a sack lunch with snacks and wear appropriate clothing, including good hiking footwear.

Santa’s elves will install a mailbox at Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center from November 29 to December 6. Santa has informed the Leisure Center that he will write back to any child who drops off a letter to him. Form letters will be available at the front desk beginning November 20.

Hat Decorating Workshop
